Krysta Yang Departs Nintendo Of America

Nintendo of America’s Krysta Yang has announced her decision to leave the company after more than 14 years.

Starting as a corporate affairs assistant back in September 2007, it was a later move into public relations that went on to allow her to become a recognisable face for the brand presenting Nintendo Minute alongside Kit Ellis.

With episodes shared on a nearly weekly basis since May 2013, that show recently came to an end as Krysta has made the difficult decision to move on from her “dream job” to start a new chapter in her career elsewhere.

“After over 14 years, I’ve decided to leave Nintendo,” Krysta writes on Twitter. “To be able to work at my dream job for so long and be part of some of the most memorable moments in gaming has truly been incredible. But the best part was all the people that I’ve had the privilege to work with.

“They’ve inspired me every day and I’m thankful to call them lifelong friends. I’m really excited for what the future holds and I hope you all stay with me on this crazy journey. I love you all.”

Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser took time to respond, writing: “Thank you for the energy, passion, ideas and most importantly the smiles that you brought every day!”

As did Nintendo Minute co-host Kit Ellis, who added: “You are an absolute legend and I am so proud of you, and what we accomplished together.”

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank Krysta for being a constant and visible friend to the Nintendo community through Nintendo Minute, and wish her the best in whatever the future holds.
