Kojima: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D a remake, not remastered

Whilst attending a press event in Japan to promote Metal Gear Solid HD Edition, acclaimed series creator Hideo Kojima turned his attention to Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

Kojima explained that the Nintendo 3DS title wasn’t simply a remastered version of the PlayStation 2 classic, and was a remake that has been created from scratch and optimised to take advantage of the handheld’s hardware.

We still don’t know much regarding new additions to the game, other than the ability to take a photo that may then be directly used as a texture for Snake’s camouflage. It will also support the new Slide Pad expansion.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D will release in Japan on March 8th, with a European and North American launch date currently unannounced.
