Nintendo has shared a seven-minute overview trailer for Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, which is out on Nintendo Switch this month.

HAL Laboratory has remastered the 2011 Wii classic – which was known as Kirby’s Adventure Wii in Europe – for Nintendo Switch.

After Magolor’s ship crashlands on Planet Popstar, you will have the chance to float and fight alongside friends locally on the same system to recover the missing pieces.

In this platforming adventure for up to four players, each player can play as a Kirby or one of his iconic friends such as King Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandana Waddle Dee. With the power to copy your enemies’ abilities, you can attack with a sword, wield a whip, float with a parasol and more.

The Festival Copy Ability makes a return from 2018’s Kirby Star Allies, whereas Sand and Mecha have been added as brand new Copy Abilities. Sand can be used “to shift sand into a variety of shapes, from a fist to a castle, and take on even the toughest foes,” whereas Mecha lets you become a robot and fly through the sky – “attacking from a distance with your cannon or up close with powerful punches.”

There will also be a new Magolor Epologue: The Interdimensional Traveler which can be accessed after clearing Story Mode, offering a brand new story that sees Magolor, the interdimensional traveller from the main adventure, lose his powers and be challenged to escape the realm between dimensions. There are more than 20 stages to explore, and it is up to you to help Magolor restore his powers and safely return to his world.

Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 24th February 2023.
