Nintendo and HAL Laboratory have revealed that the Sand and Festival Copy Abilities have been added to Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe, which will release on Nintendo Switch next month.

The Festival Copy Ability makes a return from 2018’s Kirby Star Allies, whereas Sand is a brand new Copy Ability that can be used “to shift sand into a variety of shapes, from a fist to a castle, and take on even the toughest foes.”

These are in addition to the previously revealed Mecha Copy Ability, which lets you become a robot and fly through the sky – “attacking from a distance with your cannon or up close with powerful punches.”

Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe has seen the developer remaster the 2011 Wii classic – which was known as Kirby’s Adventure Wii in Europe – for the portable home console.

After Magolor’s ship crashlands on Planet Popstar, you will have the chance to float and fight alongside friends locally on the same system to recover the missing pieces.

In this platforming adventure for up to four players, each player can play as a Kirby or one of his iconic friends such as King Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandana Waddle Dee. With the power to copy your enemies’ abilities, you can attack with a sword, wield a whip, float with a parasol and more.

You are also free to take a break from your adventure to participate in subgames against your friends such as Samurai Kirby and new additions like Magolor’s Tome Trackers.

Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 24th February 2023.
