Nintendo has confirmed a release date for Kirby’s Dream Buffet, which will release on Nintendo Switch next week.
Promising to serve up “a delicious helping of multiplayer action across wacky food-themed obstacle courses,” it will launch exclusively on the Nintendo eShop.
Whether in local or online multiplayer you will be challenged to race each other as Kirbys through delicious obstacle courses – collecting strawberries to make Kirby grow, bumping other players off the stage and using Copy Abilities – or Copy Food Abilities as they are called in this game – to outpace your competition.
Nintendo adds that the game “offers accessible gameplay for players of all skill levels, but also presents a healthy challenge for those looking to satiate their craving for friendly competition.”
The game has four modes that have been outlined:
- Gourmet Grand Prix: Race across mouth-watering obstacle courses collecting strawberries to plump up Kirby. Play a minigame in the bonus stage between races. Then turn the tides in the battle round – a final fruity fight atop a floating platform.
- Race: Roll through food-themed courses collecting strawberries and Copy Foods as you race to the finish. Earn extra strawberries at cake goals at the end of the race.
- Minigame: Play a delectable minigame between races! Compete with other players to collect as many strawberries as possible within the time limit.
- Battle Royale: In the final confrontation, knock opponents off the stage to steal their strawberries. Use your Copy Food Abilities as you battle it out to see which Kirby has grown largest!
Kirby’s Dream Buffet will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 17th August 2022 priced at £13.49 ($14.99).
