With 2017 marking Kirby’s 25th anniversary, this week’s Nintendo Direct revealed just how Nintendo will celebrate with their adorable pink character.

That will see three new Kirby games release as Nintendo 3DS exclusives with the first, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, now available on the Nintendo eShop. This free-to-start game stars four Kirby characters each with different powers – Sword Hero, Hammer Lord, Beam Mage and Doctor Healmore – who must take down giant enemies by working together.

Next up is Kirby’s Blowout Blast, a game where players will move freely around more than 25 action-packed 3D stages, inhaling enemies and powering up as they explore. It’s set to launch in summer.

The third is a new, untitled multiplayer action game that will release late in the year which we can expect to hear more about when it is revealed in the coming months.

For a comparison, Kirby’s Dream Collection on Wii was how Nintendo had chosen to celebrate Kirby’s 20th anniversary – not that it ever saw a release in Europe.
