Nintendo has shared a seven-minute overview trailer for Kirby Air Riders, which is out on Nintendo Switch 2 next week.
Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai has led development with Sora Ltd and Bandai Namco Studios on this fast-paced vehicle action game, an unexpected sequel to GameCube cult classic Kirby Air Ride.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Riders At The Ready: Pick your rider, pick your machine, and mount up for competition! Take on your rivals in frantic arena battles or fast-paced races on the ground and in the air. Choose from a variety of riders like Kirby, Meta Knight and King Dedede, and machines including the Warp Star, Wheelie Bike, Chariot and more.
- So Many Ways To Play: Zip around the city of Skyah in City Trial, scramble to the finish line in Air Ride, or enjoy bite-sized fun from a completely different perspective in Top Ride. All three of these modes can be enjoyed solo or in multiplayer, locally or online. Plus, embark on a grand journey in the single-player story mode, Road Trip.
- Multiplayer Mayhem: From free-for-all battles online to exhilarating races around the same screen, there’s no shortage of ways to duke it out with friends – locally or online! Take on rivals from around the world or hang out with your fellow riders in the paddock between matches.
- Compatible With amiibo: Each two-part amiibo comes with one rider and machine – such as Kirby with the Warp Star – which together form an amiibo figure. You can mix and match your riders and machines to make different combinations, resulting in different amiibo figures you can tap to bring into your game. By racing together with them, the rider’s level and proficiency with that machine will increase.
Kirby Air Riders will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 20 November 2025.
