Kingdom Hearts 3D multiplayer mode detailed

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance

During an interview in the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will include a multiplayer mode.

This will be a ‘Dream Eater Battle Mode’, allowing players to upgrade the critters gathered during the Story mode with whom you’re able to train and fight with. The multiplayer mode will use a different battle system, and you will be able to upgrade your Dream Eaters to make them stronger and more versatile.

The bad news, however, is that Nomura says the game is to use ad-hoc connectivity, meaning that it appears that such a mode is only able to be enjoyed locally.

He also teased more information regarding the story. Players will learn a secret about hooded group Organisation XIII, seeing Zexion, Lexaeus, and Axel within the game as humans with memories of their time being nobodies. The mysterious man wearing a black coat, seen previously in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix, will also make an appearance.
