Kid Icarus: Uprising receives new trailer

An additional trailer for Kid Icarus: Uprising has today taken to the skies.

Within you’ll see plenty of gameplay footage showcasing both land and air combat, with Pit facing off against a Space Kraken and Dark Pit amongst other enemies.

Kid Icarus: Uprising sees the return of the dark goddess Medusa and her Underworld Army. The heroic angel Pit, aided by Palutena, goddess of light and guardian of the human race, must combat their forces of darkness by air and land.

The game will use the Fiend’s Cauldron system, which allows players to customise their play experience by adjusting intensity level. Intensity will range from 0.0 – 9.0 for each individual chapter, with higher intensities allowing you to earn more Hearts and powerful weapon drops from enemies. Hearts may also be used to purchase new weapons, and players can increase the intensity setting from its standard 2.0 level by increments of 0.1. However you’ll have to place a bet by placing an increasing number of Hearts into the Fiend’s Cauldron, if you are defeated a portion of these are then lost.

You’ll be able to utilise a variety of weapons across nine different categories, ranging from Bows to Claws, that each have their own unique characteristics suited to all styles of play. Vehicles will also feature, including the Exo Tank in which Pit may use its powerful drift ability to boost over jumps or neutralise enemies with the tank’s ramming horn.

Those that pre-order the game at selected retailers will receive a bonus download code for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus, a re-mastered 3D version of the NES Classic.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is due to launch for Nintendo 3DS across North America on March 23rd, and Europe in March.
