Electronic Arts and PopCap Vancouver have announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Battle of Neighborville Complete Edition will release on Nintendo Switch next month.

Co-developed with QLOC S.A., this is the first game developed with the Frostbite engine to come to the portable home console and will introduce players to Neighborville.

This suburban region sees flora and undead clash, with players tackling hilarious missions and eliminating epic bosses in an effort to collect medals and unlock “dangerously superb” outfits.

You will be able to play offline, group up with three friends or compete in 8-on-8 multiplayer, vanquishing your enemies, blasting gnome bombs and bouncing on pink ooze, with optional motion controls to help you make the perfect shot.

There are 23 fully customisable characters (which will include a Team Play class for each faction) and all cosmetic items ever released as in-game unlockables, without the need for a premium store or currency.

“We are excited to bring everyone’s favorite Plants vs. Zombies characters to Nintendo Switch for the first time, giving players the ability to play in their homes or on the go, however they choose,” enthuses PopCap Vancouver producer Melvin Teo.

“The Switch’s motion controls allow us to try a fresh new take on Neighborville, and with its docked and portable play, we have the ability to bring the game and its characters to life in ways that weren’t possible before.”

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle of Neighborville Complete Edition will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 19th March 2021.
