Kalos region provides Pokémon X and Y’s setting

It has been confirmed that Pokémon X and Y will take place within an entirely new region called Kalos.

Promising players beautiful forests and thriving cities, the star-shaped region finds the vibrant metropolis of Lumiose City at its centre, shadowed by a tower that becomes an iconic structure within the Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

For the first time, the Pokédex will be divided between three unique areas across the region, which, according to CoroCoro magazine, is split between Central, Coastal and Mountain areas.
