It’s been nearly three years since we last heard about Metal Gear Solid’s film adaptation – Konami having announced that they were working with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Columbia Pictures to turn the revered classic into a live-action blockbuster.
Deadline have today reported that British writer Jay Basu has been hired to write the movie adaptation, which we previously knew is being produced by Marvel Studios founders Avi and Ari Arad.
is first credited as writer on Song of Songs, before moving on to pen a screenplay for 2012’s Fast Girls and co-write The Dinosaur project that same year. He can most recently been attributed to 2014’s Monster: Dark Continent, where he worked alongside Tom Green.
