Japan’s Hyrule Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL Includes Classic Link Costume

Nintendo are to shortly release the Hyrule Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL in Japan, and have revealed that their golden hardware will come with a special code for Hyrule Warriors Legends.

That will unlock Link’s Classic Tunic, which previously became available as downloadable content for Wii U counterpart Hyrule Warriors. But the costume, inspired by Link’s appearance in 1986’s The Legend of Zelda, can also be warn by the player’s fairy, which can be interacted with in a new My Fairy mode.

The only oddity is that the Hyrule Warriors Legends doesn’t come with the Hyrule Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL, but it appears Nintendo are assuming that consumers drawn to the embellished hardware design will likely need no encouragement to purchase the Nintendo 3DS exclusive as well.

Hyrule Warriors Legends and the Hyrule Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL will launch in Japan on January 21st.
