MCM Birmingham Comic Con played host to Nintendo UK’s first ever Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament today.

32 players from the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U community descended on Birmingham’s NEC, competing against one another in a bracketed tournament that eventually led to the Grand Final between Michael St. Louis and James Miller – playing as Pikachu and Luigi respectively.

Having already faced each other in StreetPass UK’s National Tournament, it was a repeat victory for James who displayed his brawling prowess with Mario’s nervy brother to beat Pokémon’s signature electric mouse into submission.

His Super Smash Bros. Invitational win saw him handed a £60 Nintendo eShop voucher, whereas the runner-up prize was £40 Nintendo eShop voucher.
