EarthBound creator Shigesato Itoi has taken to Miiverse to thank western fans for their support, EarthBound Central reports.
His comments come off the back of Nintendo announcing plans to localise the SNES title through the Wii U Virtual Console service, during their Nintendo 3DS Direct this week.
“Dear EarthBound / MOTHER2 fans outside of Japan: Thank you for all the requests. They made me very happy,” Itoi wrote on Miiverse. “Now with the re-launch, I am looking forward to meet new friends. Potential!!”
EarthBound will see release across North America and Europe later this year.
