Phoenix Labs has revealed that they have teamed up with Iron Galaxy to port Dauntless to Nintendo Switch.

The free-to-play online action role-playing game is the third project that the developer has helped to release on the portable home console, after The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Diablo III Eternal Collection.

“Any time you’re bringing a game to a new piece of hardware I think there are challenges inherent to that process,” Phoenix Labs producer Chris Fox explained to Twinfinite.

“We’ve been really fortunate to be working with Iron Galaxy to bring it to the Switch and like, they really know what they’re doing when it comes to that hardware.

“Honestly, we are not the biggest studio in the world. So, what we choose to work on means there’s something else that we can’t do or that you know, has to wait for a little bit later.

“So it’s just it’s really about prioritization and making sure we’re making the right decisions. We’re super pleased with how this build has already shaped up and we’ve got a bunch of time before it releases in winter.”

In Dauntless, you play as a Slayer. Standing between your world and the Behemoths that seek to devour it, you must form your hunting party before setting out to battle boss-sized monsters.

And, from the materials gathered from the creatures that you slay, you can craft deadly weapons and powerful armor.

With cross-platform play, progression and account management across all platforms, you can start playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC, and pick up where you left off on Nintendo Switch once it releases.

Dauntless will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q4 2019.
