Blowfish Studios and Emilie Coyo have announced that Infinite: Beyond The Mind is in development for Nintendo Switch.

This futuristic retro action platformer is set on a world devastated by war. You will have the chance to battle as Tanya or Olga – two women who share a bond thanks to their special powers.

After the tyrannical Queen Evangelyn and her heavily armed forces abduct one of them, the other must set out to rescue their partner from captivity.

That will see you battle your way through 16 side-scrolling stages that are “rife with enemy troops, platforming challenges, and intense boss fights.”

Cutting down your enemies in close combat will require that you dodge oncoming fire to close the distance between you.

You can also use mounted gun emplacements, call on allies to summon screen-clearing bombardments, and take to the skies in “genre-bending high-speed aerial shoot-‘em-up sequences.”

At the press of a button, a second player can join is as a flying robot companion that’s kitted out with long-range weaponry – helping you to rack up high scores.

“With Infinite: Beyond The Mind, I set out to make the game I always wanted to play when I was a child,” explains developer Emilie Coyo.

“Being able to realize that goal has been a dream come true and can’t wait to share it with PC and console players all over the world later this year.”

Infinite: Beyond The Mind will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q2 2020 priced at £7.99 ($9.99).
