Wales Interactive and Interflix Media have announced that their live-action interactive mystery The Isle Tide Hotel will release on Nintendo Switch in the coming months.
Open every three years for three nights, a strange group hiding personal traumas gather to uncover the one thread that binds them. Their search for the meaning of life. But tonight, this mysterious organisation must decide whether to break their own etiquette and hand over a teenage girl to their elusive founder, Dr Aniston, who promises her sacrifice will conclude their purpose.
You play as an absent father who must rescue his teenage daughter Eleanor Malone from this eclectic cult before their final night at the Isle Tide Hotel. Every decision that you make will affect the story’s outcome, from how to infiltrate the hotel to coaxing your way into the cult or choosing whether to discover the game’s hidden lore, side quests and their dedicated endings.
“The Isle Tide Hotel is inspired by classic RPGs with branching dialogue options, allowing the audience to explore a complex cast of characters, with filmic inspiration from Agatha Christie’s Crooked House and Rian Johnson’s Knives Out,” explains The Isle Tide Hotel writer and director Harry Chadwick. “It’s an FMV with levels, uncovering more each time you play. We wanted to make sure every decision affects the story and each story ends with a tough moral choice. It asks one key question; how will you decide to save Eleanor Malone?”
Interflix Media producer and co-founder Grace Monroe Chadwick adds: “We have relished the opportunity to work alongside Wales Interactive to bring our interactive content out of VR and into the wider market. The Isle Tide Hotel marks our entrance into the FMV space, and we are very excited about developing the medium in [a] new and dynamic way.”

The Isle Tide Hotel is a complex narrative-driven adventure created using our streamlined Interactive Scripting Tool – WIST – that enables writers to easily create playable, multi-directional scripts.”
