As revealed within last week’s Nintendo Direct, indie publisher Ripstone have affirmed their support for Wii U’s Nintendo eShop through delivering Pure Chess and Knytt Underground to digital store.

Pure Chess from VooFoo Studios, also set to releasing on Nintendo 3DS, was developed with the aid of a chess Grandmaster – the highest title a player can attain – and seeks to reflect the beauty and depth of the widely respected game.

Whilst Mathias Kærlev is working to bring Nicklas ‘Nifflas’ Nygren’s Knytt Underground to Wii U, which sees you in the role of Mi Sprocket – a mute, but extraordinary sprite. A thrilling quest to ring the six bells of fate, unique gameplay and dynamic characters promise to deliver a wondrous experience for Wii U owners to enjoy.

Ripstone’s co-founder and creative director Phil Gaskell comments, “We’re committed to helping developers bring their games to as many digital channels as possible and this announcement demonstrates that commitment.

“We think Nintendo gamers are going to love spending hours exploring the world of Knytt Underground and will be blown away by the visual quality of Pure Chess, and we hope to announce more games for eShop in the future.”
