It has been reported that InComm have purchased SIRAS Inc. from Nintendo of America, the company’s technology helping manufacturers and retailers to track and trace products.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution shares that InComm, already global providers of debit, stored-valued gift and prepaid card technology and products, will use the SIRAS acquisition to expand their asset control and point-of-sale services to retailers.

The technology helps companies to identify counterfeit goods in order to reduce returns and fraud, and to recover stolen products. Nintendo of America had previously made use of this to help their retailer partners manage any console that needed to be returned, although later expanded to include additional products.
