After suffering repeated delays, Comcept are continuing to work hard toward seeing that Mighty No. 9 meets the game’s scheduled launch date in February.
Having taken note that many of those that backed the Kickstarter project are Nintendo fans – which had crowdfunded a record $4 million – producer Keiji Inafune has shared that it would be worth exploring whether they can take the chance to create their own third-party amiibo.
“That’s definitely an option for us, and if we have the opportunity to do it, then we’ll definitely take the chance,” Inafune admitted to US Gamer. “And also, we know for a fact a lot of our backers are Nintendo fans, because we ran a platform survey [for Mighty No. 9], and we see how many people are choosing Nintendo hardware. So it’s definitely something we have to look into.”
Mighty No. 9 will release on Wii U in North America on 9th February 2016, and worldwide on 12th February 2016. A Nintendo 3DS version will follow at a later date.
