Blowfish Studios, Shadowplay Studios and Sweaty Chair Studio have announced that Projection: First Light will release on Nintendo Switch next month.

The developer worked with Australian shadow puppeteer and historian Richard Bradshaw to make sure that this illumination manipulation puzzle-platformer “is presented accurately with the utmost respect to the nations featured within the game.”

You must help Greta as she explores China, Victorian England, Turkey, Indonesia and more on her journey to self-enlightenment, using her light-manipulating ability to progress and learn more about each culture’s connection to the ancient artform.

That will see you build platforms from shadows, bending light to discover creative solutions to puzzles as you encounter legendary heroes and face off against mythological creatures.

“Projection: First Light brings the art of shadow puppetry to life,” explains Shadowplay Studios founder Michael Chu. “We can’t wait to share Greta’s coming-of-age journey with everyone when the game arrives on PC and consoles this September.”

Projection: First Light will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 29th September 2020 priced at £15.99 ($17.99).
