NIS America has spotlighted the Ikari Warriors trilogy, which will be included in the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection on Nintendo Switch.
With shoot ’em ups being all the rage in the 1980s, SNK had decided to develop Ikari Warriors that went on to release in 1986.
Taking guerrilla carnage to a new level of lunacy, the player assumed the roles of Ralf Jones and Clark Steel, two muscly men who must obliterate enemy forces in a South American jungle in an effort to save their commanding officer.
After Ikari Warriors was met with success, the developer went on to create Victory Road (1988) and Ikari III: The Rescue (1990) that each presented new ideas – one letting the player use guns and explosives, while the other focusing on hand-to-hand combat.
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection will release for Nintendo Switch in North America on November 13th and in Europe on November 16th.
