Nintendo has confirmed a release date for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, news that was shared in this week’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
Developed by Koei Tecmo Games with support from Nintendo, the game will tell the untold story from Hyrule’s distant past of the Imprisoning War that led up to the events of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The game stars Princess Zelda, King Rauru, and other characters teaming up to fight for Hyrule’s future. You must confront hordes of enemies alongside your allies and pair up with them to unleash mighty Sync Strikes.
You can strategically deploy Zonai devices with water, wind or other effects to change the flow of combat, and choose to fight alongside a friend in split-screen co-op, or use GameShare to play together on two separate consoles if one player has the game.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 6 November 2025.
