How To Use amiibo in Resident Evil Requiem and the RE9 amiibo Rewards

Resident Evil Requiem on Nintendo Switch 2 features exclusive amiibo support. If you’re curious how to scan and use amiibo in RE9 on Switch 2, this spoiler-free guide will cover all of that and more.

Which amiibo work in Resident Evil Requiem

Only the Grace amiibo and Leon amiibo are compatible with the game. Whether it be amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series, Splatoon series, The Legend of Zelda series, Xenoblade Chronicles series, or others plucked from the many that we have hoarded, none will unlock any in-game content in Resident Evil Requiem.

How to Scan amiibo in Resident Evil Requiem

You simply access the amiibo option from Resident Evil Requiem’s main menu screen. It’s worth mentioning that this is the only place that you can scan amiibo in-game, as there isn’t an option to do so once you have either started a new game or loaded an existing save.

You will need to wait for the Grace amiibo and Leon amiibo, which you won’t be able to get your hands on until this summer. In the recent Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, we learned that when they are scanned in-game, you will unlock weapon skins that can be changed in the Special Content menu.

The example shown in the presentation’s gameplay footage was a Neon weapon skin for Leon’s Requiem, which is a Division of Security Operations-issued, large assault revolver that has high-powered piercing capabilities.

Resident Evil Requiem is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide. The Grace amiibo and Leon amiibo will be released at retailers around the world in Summer 2026.
