There is a Mew that’s stored inside every Poké Ball Plus as a Mystery Gift once you start playing Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!. But, once you have safely stored it in your Pokémon Box, how exactly do you transfer any of your other Pokémon to your Poké Ball Plus?

Seeing as you are rewarded for storing a Pokémon inside the accessory and taking it for a walk, it’s surprising that Game Freak doesn’t explain how the process works in-game. Thankfully, it’s fairly simple, and you can follow the steps that we have listed below.

How To Put Your Pokémon In The Poké Ball Plus

1. Press the X Button to open the main menu, and select Save.
2. Select “Take your Pokémon for a stroll.”
3. Connect the Poké Ball Plus (all of your controllers will disconnect before this stage).
4. Select the Pokémon you want to take with you.
5. The Pokémon will be sent to your Poké Ball Plus.

How To Return Your Pokémon To Your Game From The Poké Ball Plus

1. Press the X Button to open the main menu, select Save.
2. Select Take your Pokémon for a stroll.
3. Connect the Poké Ball Plus (all of your controllers will disconnect before this stage).
4. If you want to return the Pokémon currently in your Poké Ball Plus, select yes when asked.

There are benefits to putting your Pokémon in the Poké Ball Plus, as, while it will still accompany you on your adventures across the Kanto region, you can earn rewards.

Once placed inside the accessory, if you hold the Control Stick down for two seconds you can interact and play with the Pokémon that is inside. And, if you link the Poké Ball Plus to the Pokémon GO, an auto-spin function will let you automatically receive items from Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms that you walk past.

The Poké Ball Plus will record how many steps you have walked, how much it helped you in Pokémon GO and the interactions that you have had with the Pokémon that you have stored. These will reward you with experience and another method of collecting species-specific Candy other than in Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!.
