The Fighting-type Pokémon Primeape was introduced in Generation I and makes a return in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. You will be able to discover and catch one in a handful of areas in the Paldea region, and, as you set out to complete the region’s Pokédex, you will want to know how to evolve the Pig Monkey Pokémon into Annihilape.

Where To Catch Primeape

Before you need to know how to evolve Primeape into Annihilape, you may want to know where to catch Primeape in the wild. Its natural habitat is the central and northeastern areas in the Paldea region (as shown in the screenshot below).

How To Evolve Primeape Into Annihilape

To evolve Primeape into Annihilape, the Pig Monkey Pokémon will need to know the Fighting-type move Rage Fist which it learns at Level 35. After you have added it to your Primeape’s moveset, you will need to use the Rage Fist move 20 times across any number of battles. Once this cumulative milestone has been hit, when your Primeape next levels up it will evolve into Annihilape.

Whether by accident or on purpose, if you choose for Primeape to not learn Rage Fist there is a way to relearn old moves. Open the in-game menu (X Button), select your Primeape and then choose the option Check Summary. Then navigate to your Pokémon’s move list, press the A Button and you will be presented with options to Remember moves, Forget a move or Use TMs to learn moves.

Where To Catch Annihilape

If you aren’t necessarily bothered about evolving Primeape and simply want to add Annihilape’s tome to your Pokédex, you may be looking to catch the Pokémon in the wild. Unfortunately, the Pokédex lists that their habitat is unknown, meaning that the only known route is to evolve Primeape. Luckily, that process shouldn’t take you too long at least.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
