The Normal-type Pokémon Dunsparce was introduced in Generation II and makes a return in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet with a new evolution. You will be able to discover and catch one in plentiful areas in the Paldea region, and, as you set out to complete the region’s Pokédex, you will want to know how to evolve the Pokémon into Dudunsparce.

Where To Catch Dunsparce

Before you need to know how to evolve Dunsparce into Dudunsparce, you may want to know where to catch Dunsparce in the wild. It can be found practically everywhere in the Paldea region, as you can see in the screenshot below. The Pokédex indicates that it is “very rarely seen,” and if it flees underground it won’t reappear.

How To Evolve Dunsparce Into Dudunsparce

To evolve Dunsparce into Dudunsparce, the Land Snake Pokémon will need to know the Normal-type move Hyper Drill. It learns this move at Level 32, after which, once it is levelled further, it will evolve into Dudunsparce.

Whether by accident or on purpose, if you choose for Dunsparce to not learn Hyper Drill there is a way to relearn old moves. Open the in-game menu (X Button), select your Dunsparce and then choose the option Check Summary. Then navigate to your Pokémon’s move list, press the A Button and you will be presented with options to Remember moves, Forget a move or Use TMs to learn moves.

Where To Catch Dudunsparce

If you aren’t necessarily bothered about evolving Dunsparce and simply want to add Dudunsparce’s tome to your Pokédex, you may be looking to catch the Pokémon in the wild. Unfortunately, the Pokédex lists that their habitat is unknown, meaning that the only known route is to evolve Dunsparce. Luckily, that isn’t too difficult to do at least.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
