When you start your adventure in Pokémon GO, Professor Willow will kindly request that you help him with his research before letting you choose between Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle as your starter Pokémon. But, there’s another option.
If you keep walking away from the three Pokémon, the augmented reality app will repeatedly spawn them next to you. Once this has happened four times, which will require that you walk approximately 275 metres (0.27 km), Pikachu will appear nearby to present you with another choice.
While Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle were your choices in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, Pikachu accompanied you on your adventure in Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition.
Pokémon GO is now available in the United States, Australia and New Zealand, and will be coming soon to Canada, Europe and South America.
