The Pokémon Company International has revealed how to catch Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! for the first time.

Th E3 2018 demo build, in which players could explore Viridian Forest with Pikachu or Eevee as their partner Pokémon, was playable at the Nintendo UK VS Live: London event last weekend.

Dot Esports had the chance to play it, and were among the lucky few that managed to randomly encounter a Shiny Pokémon in the forest, which lies early on in your adventure between Viridian City and Pewter City.

With random encounters removed in the Nintendo Switch exclusive, you will now see nearby Pokémon that you can try to catch in the overworld. The problem is that Shiny Pokémon will not appear any different from other Pokémon at this point.

But, there’s one hint that you can look for in a small glimmer, or aura, that will indicate to you that it is a Shiny Pokémon. The website describes this as “small star-like particles” that can be seen above the Pokémon in the overworld, and you will need to be quick to bump into it to try and catch it before the Shiny Pokémon disappears.

Pokémon Let’s GO, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s GO, Eevee! will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 16th.
