Nintendo has distributed another free in-game item to those playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, available through The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Tips from the Wild News channel on Nintendo Switch.
After early articles explained how you can befriend the dogs that you encounter, how to make Honey Candy, mucking around with the boomerang, tips on how to shield surf, and restoring rusted weapons, game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi has now provided tips on catching fish in Link’s open-air adventure.
“Did you know? Many species of fish find certain types of food especially delicious, and the fish of Hyrule are no different!” Fujibayashi explains.
“Take the Hearty Bass, for example – they like ingredients which share their Hearty property. Similarly, Chillfin Trout like things that cool you down. If you throw the right ingredients in the water nearby, the fish will come a-swimming! (There are other examples, and some exceptions too, but I’ll let you discover those for yourselves.
“It’s a nice and easy way to stock up on fish, so if you’d like to give it a go, please accept this in-game gift of one Voltfruit, one Cool Safflina and one Spicy Pepper. The items will appear in your game if you open it using the link below. Just make sure that you either have the game card inserted or the downloadable version of the software installed on your console.
“Have fun fishing, everyone – I hope you can all catch a whopper!”
Nintendo once again adds that you must have obtained the paraglider before you can receive these items and that you may not be able to receive them at some in-game locations such as shrines and dungeons or on certain terrain.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch and Wii U worldwide.
