After defeating the Elite Four, to enter the Hall of Fame your final challenge to overcome will be to beat Cynthia’s team to close out your adventure in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
Unlike the Elite Four members, the Pokémon League Champion has six Pokémon in her team. That she doesn’t specialise in one particular Pokémon type is something that will truly test your skills as a Pokémon Trainer – even more so given that her first Pokémon, Spiritomb, has no weakness at all.
Her team has been built to withstand damage – something that is made worse by the Hold Items that they carry – while being able to retaliate and knock out your battle-hardened Pokémon companions. You will need to rely on your most powerful moves to deal as much damage as you possibly can to make sure that you can keep the battle’s progress in your favour.
Depending on the team that you have with you, the Pokémon that you will need to worry about most are Lucario, Milotic and Garchomp. Be sure to use Fire-type moves to knock out Lucario, you will need Grass-type moves to whittle down Milotic’s HP quickly before it can start using Recover to stay in the fight and with Garchomp you will need to watch out for it using Earthquake which can easily decimate your team.
