Here’s Your First Look At The Star Fox Team In Starlink: Battle For Atlas

We have known that Starlink: Battle for Atlas on Nintendo Switch would have “exclusive Star Fox mission content” since E3 2018, and, at Gamescom 2018, we were able to see how that is shaping up for the first time.

When creative director Laurent Malville had joined IGN for their live coverage (1:28:26), in the background a cutscene was shown in which we can see Fox McCloud interacting with Peppy Hare, Falco Lombardi and Slippy Toad, revealing that, unsurprisingly, the whole Star Fox team will make an appearance.

Whether any characters beyond Fox McCloud will be playable is unclear at this point, with Malville’s conversation with IGN only really touching on what we already know about the Nintendo Switch version.

Fox McCloud and the Arwing Starship will be in the Starlink: Battle For Atlas Starter Pack. This contains a physical copy of the game, the Starlink controller mount and a poster, but, on Nintendo Switch, will also include:

  • Arwing Starship – includes modular hull and two Arwing wings, with laser cannon weapons and charge shot
    built in
  • Fox McCloud Pilot
  • Mason Rana Pilot
  • Flamethrower Weapon
  • Frost Barrage Weapon
  • Digital versions of Zenith Starship and Shredder weapon
  • Exclusive Star Fox mission content

Starlink: Battle for Atlas will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 16th.

  1. “…the whole Star Fox team will make an appearance.” If you really think that this is the whole team, you probably have no idea about the Star Fox series.

    1. Yeah, I hate it when people act as if the post-64 era never happened. Nintendo really needs to stop doubling down on 64. It’s not working. Zero failing and 64 3D not doing too well should have been enough proof. Not to mention the divided fanbase. To me, the Star Fox team is incomplete without Krystal. At least she’s in Smash Ultimate, sort of.
