Ultimate Games and A2 Softworks have announced that Ancient Farm is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
Set in ancient Egypt during the reign of the Pharaohs, this latest farm simulator has looked to offer “a calm, relaxing single-player experience from a first-person view.”
With the chance to farm, raise animals, forage, build, craft and cook, you start with a small plot and will grow your farm over time. Without tractors and harvesters, you won’t be able to rely on modern conveniences and will instead have to rely on simple, old-fashioned tools.
You can expect seasonal cycles, changing market prices and other economic factors, requiring you to use your resources wisely and reinvest your earnings to expand your farm.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Start From Nothing in Ancient Egypt: Ancient Farm Simulator is a hands-on farming simulator set in ancient Egypt. You start with empty land and basic tools, with no automation or shortcuts. Every field, building, and harvest is created by hand as you turn barren land into a working farm through planning, labour, and wise decisions.
- Hands-On Farming: Transform wild land into fertile fields, guiding your crops through every visible stage of growth. Water and fertilise at just the right moments to ensure a bountiful harvest. Wait too long, and your hard work will wither away. Here, farming rewards timing, strategy, and a proper understanding of the land. Pick up your tools and shape your destiny with your own hands.
- Crops, Trees, and Riverside Plants: Cultivate a wide variety of crops for food, crafting, and trade. Nurture fruit trees that demand patience but reward you with harvests season after season. Some plants, such as papyrus and sugar cane, thrive only by the water’s edge, challenging you to design your farm with care.
- Animals, Tools, and Buildings: Tend herds of cows, sheep, pigs, and hens to supply your farm with food and valuable resources. Harness oxen to plough vast fields with greater speed. Collect materials, craft your own tools, and construct everything from humble barns to bustling workshops and kitchens. Unlock blueprints from travelling merchants to raise ever more impressive buildings, culminating in grand temples.

Ancient Farm will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2026.
