Lightning Games and RocketPunch Games have announced that Hardcore Mecha will release on Nintendo Switch.
The 2D action-platformer is described as a mix of Metal Slug and Super Robot Wars, coming crammed with shooting, flying and “exquisite” animations.
You play as Tarethur in the Campaign mode, a mercenary tasked with finding a missing intelligence officer on Mars. The story of conspiracy and insurgency has eight chapters and 19 stages, with the chance to exit your mechas to explore the surrounding environment and engage in platform-based combat.
There’s also the Survival mode – Simulation Battle – which will see you fight to survive against waves of deadly enemies while operating one of 40 mechas.
And then in the Multiplayer mode, you can customise your mecha before participating in competitive battles in online or local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players.
“Hardcore Mecha is the ultimate mecha experience. From the array of different mechs available, the variety of stunning manoeuvres, on top of the engaging platforming elements, there is so much for players to enjoy,” explains RocketPunch Games producer Louiky Mu.
“Now it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch, players will be able to engage in the fast-paced competitive action anywhere and everywhere.”
Hardcore Mecha will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in October 2020.
