Happy Birthday, Satoru Iwata! Nintendo’s incomparable president today celebrates being 55 years young, allowing us another opportunity to thank him for all he has done for the company during his tenure.
He’s had a fairly trying year, having undergone surgery to remove a bile duct growth. That understandably took him out of action for a few months, and meant that he had to miss E3 2014 and the company’s annual shareholder meeting.
While “recovering steadily” he continued his duties as president, speaking to investors in October to deliver news of Nintendo’s quarterly earnings – which saw them swinging back toward hopefully making an annual profit.
