Xbox Game Studios is expected to announce that it will release Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Nintendo Switch 2, according to the latest rumours to surround the portable home console’s successor.
When asked by his co-host Rand al Thor 19 whether Xbox would have any presence around the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal, established insider NateDrake revealed that he had heard Microsoft’s multi-platform plans for 2025 would include releasing Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 (Nate the Hate Podcast Timestamp: 53 mins 48 seconds).
“Microsoft is going to be a very big support of the Switch 2, when it does come out,” NateDrake shared. “They will be porting and patching the current Switch line-up, so, games like Grounded, Pentiment, the Ori games, will eventually find their way to Switch 2 patched with 4K support.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if you see Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush also make their way over. Just expect a lot of Microsoft on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 moving forward, but Flight Simulator and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are two games I have heard about that should be making their way over in 2025.”
Whether the port will include the first four main games – Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 – or whether it will also have Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach, which were added to Halo: The Master Chief Collection at a later date, is unclear.
Despite the rumours that continue to flood the Internet, we only officially know that Nintendo has promised to reveal its successor to Nintendo Switch before the end of March 2025 and has confirmed that the hardware will be backwards compatible with the original portable home console.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed before 31 March 2025 and is expected to be released around the world in 2025.
