GungHo Online Entertainment America has announced that it will publish Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, which is coming to Nintendo Switch late next year.
Nihon Falcom has looked to remake The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, which was the first entry in what went on to become known as the Trails series.
The turn-based RPG was first released for PC before later going on to receive ports to the PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Now reimagined for modern platforms, it will include brand-new English, German and French localisations, enhanced visuals and refined gameplay mechanics.
Set in the Liberl Kingdom, its story follows Estelle Bright and her adoptive brother, Joshua, as they begin their journey to become senior bracers. What starts as a simple mission grows into a battle against a mysterious organisation threatening their homeland. As they uncover hidden conspiracies, Estelle and Joshua face increasing dangers that test their courage and strengthen their bond.
It has been confirmed that Limited Run Games will produce a Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Collector’s Edition, while a standard edition will be made available through Amazon ($59.99) in North America or Clear River Games (€59.99) in Europe.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Fall 2025.
