We learnt that Legendary Entertainment had partnered with The Pokémon Company to release a live-action Detective Pikachu movie last month, and we now know those that may write the film’s script.

Variety reports that Gravity Fall creator Alex Hirsch as well as Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy screenwriter Nicole Perlman are in negotiations to pen the live-action movie.

Perlman is also working on Marvel’s Captain Marvel movie with Inside Out writer Meg LeFauve, as well as the third Sherlock Holmes movie.

As reported before, Universal Pictures will handle Detective Pikachu’s distribution outside of Japan, while Toho will look after distribution across The Pokémon Company’s home country.
