Double Fine Presents and Foam Sword have revealed that Knights and Bikes will release on Nintendo Switch.

This multi-award winning hand-painted action-adventure is set on the fictional British isle of Penfurzy in the 1980s and can be experienced alone or in local co-op.

It tells a coming-of-age story about young girls Nessa and Demelza, who explore the island’s coasts on their bikes to find a legendary lost treasure.

That results in a “Goonies-inspired tale of excitement, danger, fun and friendship,” on which they will stuff their pockets with trinkets and barter with others for bike upgrades.

They will also be confronted with dangers – real and imaginary – who they must defeat with frisbees, water-balloons, video game controllers, the powerful beats of an amplified boom-box and more.

“We’re so excited to bring Knights and Bikes to a new group of players to enjoy its heartfelt story, atmospheric setting and playful gameplay,” explains Foam Sword co-founder Rex Crowle.

“And the Nintendo Switch is the perfect fit for our game as you can slide out a Joy-Con and pass to a friend to co-op any, or all, of the story. PLUS you can throw the whole thing in your backpack while going off on your own real-life adventures!”

Knights and Bikes will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 6th February 2020, with a 10 percent pre-order discount available.
