Koei Tecmo have announced that Gold Skulltula will help to objectify your experience with Hyrule Warriors, having been scattered throughout the Wii U exclusive.
The cursed creatures, which first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, will appear on the battlefield after meeting a specified requirement – their position designated by a spider web icon. You’ll then have a limited amount of time to charge your way across to recover it, with it scuttering away if you aren’t fast enough. Sounds will indicate that they’re nearby, although may sometimes be hidden under rocks that will need to be bombed.
There are 100 within the game, and, once collected, will reward you with a piece of a Zelda-themed illustration à la Puzzle Swap on the StreetPass Mii Plaza. Although without the sharing.
Hyrule Warriors will release exclusively for Wii U across Europe on September 19th, and North America on September 26th.
I miss the days when hidden content in games wasn’t announced before the game was even released.
