The original Getsu Fūma Den was released for Famicom back in 1987, now making a return as a roguevania 2D action game set in a dark fantasy world which is “brought to life through the stroke of traditional Japanese art.”
After 1,000 years of peace, the seal to the gate of hell is torn open releasing a flood of evil spirits into the world. With the world on the brink of destruction, as the leader of his clan, Getsu Fuma must venture into the pits of hell to rip out the evil at its core.
You will be challenged to descend into the harrowing Ukiyo-e style stages of the underworld where you must master an arsenal of weapons and equipment which can be paired to suit different playstyles. GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon will have “highly strategic combat,” which will be based on the spacing and timing aspects that are unique to Japanese martial arts.
GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is now available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide priced at £22.49 (€24.99).
There is also a digital Deluxe Edition priced at £31.49 (€34.99), which comes with a digital artbook, original mini soundtrack and a port of the original Japanese Getsu Fūma Den Famicom game, never before released in the West.
