How to get the Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire demo worldwide

With the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire demo slowly rolling out worldwide, you may be wondering precisely how to get yourself a redeemable code.

We’ve tried to cover as many countries as we possibly could, mentioning as many of the upcoming opportunities to nab one! These are all those confirmed so far, but we’ll update as any more are announced.


United Kingdom
If you have pre-ordered Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, or previously purchased Pokémon X or Pokémon Y, through Amazon UK, Smyths Toys, ShopTo or the Nintendo UK Official Store you may receive an email with a code.

You can also visit participating GAME stores across the country, where you can download the demo through Nintendo Zone from Wednesday 15th October.

Lastly, those that visit MCM London Comic Con, which is being held at the Excel between 24th – 26th October, can claim a code at the Pokémon booth.


United States and Canada
Redeemable demo codes will be available in the October edition of the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter, which will be sent out on Tuesday 21st October. To make sure that you receive the newsletter, players will need to have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and have opted in to receive marketing email messages by Monday 20th October.


France
Codes will be available at Paris Games Week, which takes place between Wednesday 29th October – Saturday 2nd November.


Germany
Codes will be available in McDonald’s restaurants from Wednesday 15th October by connecting to the Nintendo Zone service.


Netherlands
GameMania stores will be distributing codes from Wednesday 15th October, with another opportunity to grab one at First Look & Autumn Tours happening in November.


Belgium
The first chance to claim a code will be at F.A.C.T.S. Festival being held on Saturday 18th – Sunday 19th October, and then in November at the Nintendo On Tour Mall… err… Tour.


Italy
Topolino and Il Giornalino magazine have codes within their October issue, with Focus Junior the same in their November issue. They will also be distributed at the Nintendolandia Tour held on Saturday 18th October, Milan Games Week between Friday 24th – Sunday 26th October, and at the Nintendo stand at G come Giocare from Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd November.


Spain
GAME stores and the Official Nintendo Magazine will distribute codes from Wednesday 15th October, while they will also be available at the Manga Fair in Barcelona between Thursday 30th October – Sunday 2nd November.


Portugal
FNAC, Media Markt and El Corte Inglés will distribute codes from Wednesday 15th October, with the Lisboa Games Week and Comic Con Portugal dishing them out from Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th November.


Australia and New Zealand
Club Nintendo members can receive codes from Wednesday 15th October, with retailers continuing to spread the joy themselves from Monday 3rd November.


Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden
Sadly your moment has passed, with codes having been distributed through the official Nintendo website which have now run out. Hopefully there’ll be further opportunity to grab it, which we’ll keep you posted on!
