The Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam became the battleground for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Smash Ball Team Cup 2019 last weekend, seeing players compete to represent Europe at the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019.

It was Germany’s Team Ehre that walked away as champions of Europe, securing a special trophy, customized Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers, and the jerseys that they will wear when they take on the world’s best players next month.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 will take place in Los Angeles on Saturday 8th June, a three-on-three team-based tournament that will see teams from North America, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand battle it out to be crowned world champions.

The grand final peaked with the tournament-deciding Smashdown match, where Team Ehre’s RobinGG chose Wii Fit Trainer to defeat Guezmer’s Leon – whose choice was Toon Link.

“Going in we were probably not the favorite, so it feels even better to win,” admitted Team Ehre’s Light.

RobinGG now has his sights set on helping Team Ehre to become world champions, adding: “We don’t have anything to lose. If other regions think we’re weaker – we can show them we’re not.”

E3 2019 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center between Tuesday 11th – Thursday 13th June 2019.
