We know that Nintendo Switch has become Nintendo’s fastest-selling console in every region, and retailers continue to share their stories about what a success story it has proven to be.
GameStop has already hailed it as “one of the strongest and most successful gaming console launches for GameStop in the last several years,” and now, three weeks on, have reflected on how it has continued to perform.
“The Nintendo Switch is off to a start right now that it could possibly eclipse the Wii. Initial sales on this have been phenomenal,” GameStop senior director of merchandising Eric Bright revealed to Game Rant. “I can’t give straight numbers, but I can say we’re seeing one of the highest attach rates of software and accessories to a device that we’ve seen in a long time.”
The specialist retailer has seen particular demand for Nintendo Switch accessories, which, interestingly, has seen them see “tremendous success” in selling the Nintendo Switch Power Adapter.
“We’re seeing tremendous success with the power chargers for the Nintendo Switch, as well as people coming in and picking up extra Joy-Con so people can turn it into a four-player device,” Bright added. “We will soon be going online with all-new bundles. Because of the popularity of Zelda, which is one of my top picks, we’re putting together a Zelda bundle of hardware and accessories for customers to pick up online.”
Nintendo Switch is now available worldwide, priced at £279.99 ($299.99).
