GameStop has announced that their initial Nintendo Switch stock allocation has sold out, after taking pre-orders for the console both online and in-store since Friday.

The specialist retailer has promised that they are “working closely with Nintendo to get additional Nintendo Switch units,” adding that games and accessories still remain available to pre-order.

“The fact that this initial allotment has been completely reserved in a matter of a few days demonstrates gamers desire for this fun and revolutionary gaming system,” shared Bob Puzon, GameStop’s senior vice president of merchandising.

“We’re working closely with Nintendo to get additional Nintendo Switch units, and will let our customers know when they become available. We encourage customers to visit GameStop.com and sign up to get updates about the product and availability.”

Nintendo Switch will launch worldwide on Friday 3rd March, priced at £279.99 ($299.99).
