Nintendo has revealed that GameCenter CX host Shinya Arino will be added to Super Mario Maker as a Mystery Mushroom costume in Japan.
This will become available as free downloadable content, and follows news that Famitsu’s mascot Nekki will receive the same treatment. Arino seemed pleased with his inclusion, especially when he discovered that Nintendo had added his “Kachō on!” catchphrase which he always says before turning on the console in each episode.
GameCenter CX has aired in Japan since November 2003, with each episode seeing Arino try to complete games within a single day. Nintendo’s late president Satoru Iwata had appeared in one episode, where Arino had attempted to complete Balloon Fight.
