Game Freak has confirmed a release date for Little Town Hero, news that was shared in this week’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

This new RPG is set in an isolated village on the edge of the world that exists in peace under the protection of a nearby castle.

The only gate that leads outside is heavily guarded by a castle, and the villagers are not allowed to leave. While the villagers don’t give it a second thought, the protagonist longs to see the world outside.

When a monster appears in the village, everyone is shocked as, up until then, they didn’t know that such creatures existed.

Thanks to a mysterious red stone that he found in the coalmines, the protagonist is able to fight it. And, as he defends the village, he gradually unravels the stone’s secrets and how the monsters came to be.

The whole story takes place in the village, which you must defend from the monsters that invade it. With battle commands to select to topple your enemies, you can also gather support from townspeople to help you out.

It was also revealed that Undertale creator Toby Fox has composed the game’s soundtrack.

Little Town Hero will release exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 16th priced at £22.49 ($24.99) and is now available for pre-purchase.
