Further Theatrhythm Final Fantasy details emerge

More details have emerged regarding Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, currently in development at Square Enix and headed to Nintendo 3DS.

In a report within the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, we learn that the game is to feature over 50 songs – three taken from each entry in the franchise, from Final Fantasy right through to Final Fantasy XIII. These will then be used for each entry’s corresponding ‘Field,’ ‘Battle,’ and ‘Event’ stages. As well as 3D visuals, the game will also feature surround sound.

Interestingly, the game originally begun development as a project for Nintendo DS but was soon moved to Nintendo 3DS due to issues in regards to cartridge space. The switch was able to resolve these, apparently!

Lastly, Square Enix confirmed that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is planned for release this Winter in Japan.
