Pokémon Tretta Lab was announced earlier today, and further details have since emerged regarding the Nintendo 3DS title.

Set to be accompanied by a Tretta Scanner add-on, it takes much inspiration from the arcade machine counterpart. Players will attach the device to their handheld, after which they are required to download the Pokémon Tretta Lab Main System software.

The game itself sees you use physical Tretta discs that each contain a Pokémon, with three modes for players to explore: Tretta Analyser, which sees you research strengths and weaknesses of your chosen Pokémon; Type Checker, used to research Pokémon types and ways to obtain new Tretta; and Auto-Battle, which sees your Tretta fight waves of enemies or against friends.

In celebrating the theatrical release of the new Pokémon movie, Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo’s Awakening, those that purchase the game will receive Mewtwo, Eevee and Lucario Trettas, with a Pichu Tretta available as a pre-order bonus.

Pokémon Tretta Lab releases across Japan on August 10th for Nintendo 3DS.
